Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use dextercyberlab.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
The website is run by Dexter DCL Nigeria Limited (CAC RC 7185349), trading as Dexter Cyberlab, 5 Durban Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, email moses@dextercyberlab.com.
What we collect
- When you book a consultation: your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your company, the services you are interested in, a description of your project, your budget, your timeline and a preferred time to talk.
- When you email or call us: whatever you choose to tell us, plus your email address or phone number.
- When you visit the site: our servers keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these to keep the site running and secure.
We do not ask for sensitive data, such as health or religious information, and we ask you not to send it.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics, only if you agree. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics
cookies. If you click Accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google
sets cookies (named _ga) and receives details such as the pages you view, your device and browser,
and your approximate location. Google Analytics does not log or store full IP addresses. If you click Decline,
or do nothing, no Google script loads and nothing is tracked. You can change your choice at any time with the
"Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising. We remember your cookie choice in your browser. The site also stores one small setting when you close the "Book a consultation" bar, which is cleared when you close the tab. Our staff admin area uses a login cookie, which is only set for people who sign in to it.
Why we use your data
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal. The legal basis is the steps you ask us to take before a contract.
- To deliver work you have agreed with us. The legal basis is our contract with you.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse, such as spam. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
- To understand how the site is used, through Google Analytics. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping business and tax records.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We only share your data with service providers that help us run the site and reply to you, and only as far as they need it:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts the website
- Supabase, which hosts the database that stores consultation requests
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies
- Our email provider, which delivers our messages to you
Some of these providers store data outside Nigeria, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect your data, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires. We may also share data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to reply and follow up, and for up to two years if no work goes ahead, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as the law requires. Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted.
How we protect it
We are a security company, and we apply the same care to our own systems: encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted staff access, and regular security checks. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will tell you and the regulator if a breach puts you at risk.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your data
- stop or limit how we use your data, or object to it
- send your data to you or another organisation in a common format
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time
Email moses@dextercyberlab.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Children
This website is for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we will make them clear on the site.
